Our work has always been driven by the needs of the people around us. Whether it’s fabrication, production parts, or custom solutions, we approach every job with attention to detail and a practical mindset.

We’ve built our reputation through word of mouth, long-term relationships, and customers who know they can count on us. As we look ahead, we’re continuing to grow and invest in better ways to serve them—without losing sight of what matters most.

That’s who we are.
That’s Wernimont Welding.

Our story

At Wernimont Welding, hard work isn’t something we talk about—it’s something we’ve lived every day since we got started in 1983.

Located just north of Carroll, our shop was built on a family farm by Richard “Dick” Wernimont with a simple goal: to provide dependable welding and fabrication services to those who needed them. From the beginning, our focus has been on doing honest work, standing behind it, and making sure it holds up when it matters most.

Like many good businesses, ours grew one job at a time. Early on, that meant taking on small, practical projects—like fabricating a simple hood to cover hydraulic components on farm equipment. That kind of work led to more opportunities. As companies like Bauer Built grew, they trusted us with additional parts and fabrication work, from manifolds to smaller components that they preferred to outsource. Over time, those relationships strengthened, and when ownership changed, we were able to continue as a trusted vendor. That steady, earned growth is what helped shape Wernimont Welding into what it is today.

Today, the next generation is helping lead Wernimont Welding forward. Collin Wernimont plays a major role in both the day-to-day operations and the long-term direction of the business. With experience working in agriculture and sales, Collin always knew he wanted to build something of his own. That mindset, combined with a deep understanding of the industry, has helped push Wernimont Welding into its next phase of growth.

During the economic challenges over the last few years, when supply chains made it difficult to source parts, Collin saw an opportunity to bring more capability in-house. That led to investments in laser cutting technology and automation—giving us more control, greater precision, and the ability to move faster for our customers. What started with bringing in a laser system has continued to grow, including automation upgrades and the development of our current shop space.

That forward-thinking approach is paired with the same foundation the business was built on—hands-on craftsmanship, problem-solving, and a commitment to doing things right. Today, we continue to expand our capabilities in precision manufacturing while staying grounded in the values that have carried us for over 40 years.
